Celebrating Failure
Over the past semester I have failed numerous times in all aspects of my life but that doesn't stop me from continuing to work hard. This summer I have really focused on attempting to lose weight and change my life for the better through proper nutrition and exercise. With that came a lot of trial and error to figure out what works best for my body and lifestyle. I would find myself getting in ruts where I just wouldn't feel like working out or eating healthy and could feel my motivation going down hill. During those times I really had to focus on making a step in the right direction at least once a day. I would substitute a bowl of grapes over a bag of chips and other small changes like that. I began to see that even the smallest of changes were begging to have a positive impact on my attitude and well being. I learned that it is best to take the days one at a time and focus on making small changes. With all of these small changes they will begin to have a greater impact in the days to come. Failure is just something that everyone must experience to grow as human and learn from mistakes. With that you are able to grow and see the things that you must change in order to succeed in life. I usually handle failure rather well because I realize that it will only help me in the long run. This class certainly has changed my opinion on failure in a positive way so that I will take more risks to better myself and my future. The worst thing someone can tell you is no, and with that no you build upon those missteps and come back even better.

I can relate with this so much! I had planned for this summer to be my start of working out five days a week and only eating clean. That is the complete opposite of what happened and summer is almost over. I probably worked out five times total. I like how you turned it around and made it a lesson to learn about yourself. Good for you! Don't give up!
